David has been involved in the commercial and industrial electrical construction industry for almost 40 years. David founded LECS in 1989 and still oversees every aspect of the company. His expertise includes all forms of computer driven project management and an extensive background in estimating and upper management. Texas Electrical Master License #33502. David spends his free time working on his golf swing, hunting, and playing with grandkids.
After studying Business Management at Texas A&M University, Randy began his commercial construction career in 1994. He has spent the last 14 years at LECS serving as an Estimator, Project Manager, and Senior PM before being promoted to Vice-President in 2007. Randy spends most of his time on Pre-Construction Services, Customer Sales and Service, and the day to day business operations at LECS, but he also still serves as a PM on various projects. Outside of the office, Randy serves on the Board of Directors for Lamar Little League and Lamar Sports Association. He is also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, American Quarter Horse Association, and American Paint Horse Association. Although Randy enjoys his time spent hunting, or playing with his horses, his most valuable time is spent with his wife and three children.
Kenneth has over 28 years of experience in the electrical trade and the last 25 have been spent with LECS. Kenneth attended the IEC’s PEP program in 1996 and 1997 as he worked his way up the ranks. Kenneth was promoted to Field Operations Manager in 1999 and still holds that position today. He oversees all of the day-to-day field operations, planning, organizing, and scheduling all work, and is responsible for all field staffing needs. Kenneth takes great in the nearly 200 men that work for him every day. Kenneth comes from a family of electricians (Grandfather, Father, Uncles, Brothers) and his work is his passion. Outside of work he loves spending time with his family, constructing things with his hands, and watching motor sports like NASCAR. Kenneth is driven by making a brighter future his family and, specifically, his special needs son.
With over 15 years in the trade, Zach has experience in all aspects of the electrical industry. Zach came to LECS in 2005 and has worn many hats. Zach started as an Estimator, and worked his up to Chief Estimator, before becoming a Project Manager. Zach now serves as our Senior Project Manager and oversees all aspects of the Project Management department. Zach is a graduate of Texas A & M University, has two daughters, and enjoys spending his spare time on the golf course.
Jesse is a 2007 graduate of Sam Houston State University. After graduation, Jesse spent a year playing professional baseball before coming to LECS. Jesse began as a Jr. Estimator and worked his way up to Chief Estimator in 2015. Jesse has also worked as a Project Manager, but he now focuses on running our Estimating Department. When not at work, Jesse enjoys hunting, riding motocross, and spending time with his wife and son. Jesse and his wife are expecting a daughter in October, 2015
With over 20 years in the commercial electrical industry, Robert graduated from the Gulf Coast IEC Apprentice program in 1998 and immediately obtained his Electrical Journeyman’s License. Robert earned his Master Electricians License in 2002. He is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science and will graduate in 2016 with a Masters Degree in Industrial Distribution, also from Texas A&M. Robert’s field experience as an electrician helped him advance to electrical and voice/data communications estimating, project management and working with design build project applications. Robert is a member of the Inspiring Possibilities Board of Directors which helps special needs athletes in a adaptive martial arts program in Cypress, Texas and works with Morning Glory Ranch in Waller Texas, an equine therapy program for children with disabilities. His favorite pastime is tailgating at Texas A&M Football home games with his family.
Angela has been working in the electrical construction field since 2001 and started as a project coordinator for LECS large projects. She moved to a different electrical contractor in 2005 as a purchasing agent in the Houston area for a small projects division. After three years, she moved into a role for corporate accounts payable, processing hundreds of invoices for multiple branch locations. She then moved to the Austin branch as a purchasing agent and service coordinator. In 2010, she came back to LECS as a project manager for small projects ($5k to $1 million) and service coordinator. She has now added the role of estimator to her growing resume. She is organized, modest, hardworking, candid, and believes in integrity and a person’s word is their bond. She consistently reaches her goals, and expectations, making sure all projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Ken has over 40 years experience in the electrical industry having graduated from the IEC in 1981. Ken holds a Master Electrician License with the State of Texas. He has been with LECS since 2010 and has experience in Commercial, Industrial, and High Voltage work. He also specializes in Design Build projects. In his spare time, Ken enjoys spending quality time with family and friends at Lake Jacksonville. Although he does enjoy hunting and fishing, his most valuable time is spent with his two grandchildren.
Brandon joined LECS as a Project Manager in 2015. Brandon has over 14 years in the trade. He started, at the age of 16, doing summer work as a residential apprentice. Upon High School graduation, Brandon started working as a full time apprentice. While coming up through the trade, Brandon attended the IEC Apprenticeship program until obtaining his Journeyman Electrical license in 2010. Brandon gained vast experience working as a service technician, becoming certified in low voltage cabling, TEGG infrared surveying, and working with high voltage cabling. Brandon spent several years working as a Project Foreman and Project Engineer before being promoted to his current position as a Project Manager.
After studying Marketing at Blinn Jr. College. Jim decided to enter the Electrical field in 1976. He has been involved in small, and large projects, ranging from Offshore Technology to Major Medical to Retail to Education. Jim brings over 39 years of commercial and industrial electrical experience to LECS. His expertise is Pre-Construction project budgets and estimating using advanced computer estimating software. Jim spends most of his off time chasing grandchildren around the Tae Kwon Do Tournament Circuit.
James has over 17 years in the electrical trade; 10 years working in the field doing commercial and industrial construction, and 7 years estimating. He has been with LECS as an estimator for the past 3 years. In his free time, James enjoys spending time with his family, anything that involves salt water, coaching youth hockey, and playing adult hockey.
Ben Mata began his career in electrical work in 2008. He entered the electrical apprenticeship program at the IEC in 2009, obtaining his journeyman’s license in 2012. He graduated from the apprenticeship program as the Apprentice of the Year, also receiving the Madeline Borthick Award for Scholastic Excellence. Ben was also invited to the national wire off competition, where he was awarded 5th place. Ben worked in the field as an electrician for 7 years, and most recently began his career with LECS as an estimator. Now, as an instructor with the IEC, Ben looks forward to giving back to the institution that provided him the fundamental grounding for his career. In his free time, Ben enjoys live music, and spending time with his wife and son, and is expecting his second child Summer 2015.
Arthur started his electrical career in Nov 2002 working his way up from helper, to apprentice, to leadman, to foreman, and now estimator/project manager. He has work on some of the larger projects in the Houston and surrounding areas; IAH Bush Airport International Terminal, US Custom Border Protection Lab facility, US Attorney General Office, Hilton Garden Inns Hotel in Sugar Land, and Fort Bend County Court House. After completing his apprenticeship program at the IEC in 2009, AJ continued his education at Houston Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science for Construction Management. He continues to attend HCC for a Business Management with hopes to transfer to U of H in the spring of 2016 to complete his undergraduate degree. Arthur also served our country in the Marine Corps, with two tours to Iraq, before receiving an Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp.
After two years in the residential field, Doug has spent his last 13 climbing the LECS ranks from an apprentice to our Service Field Superintendent. Doug is a Master Electrician and provides valuable experience after spending five years as a Service Technician. His daily duties have him touching many aspects of the business from customer relations, estimating, managing the small/special projects division, manpower, and service dispatcher. Outside of the office he is a devoted father, husband and avid outdoorsman.
After working in the electrical construction trade for several years, attending, and successfully completing, I.E.C. and drafting course at HCC, Danis has spent the last 6 years as an electrical detailer and BIM coordinator. The experience in his field consists of projects such as: Angleton HS/Wildcat Stadium, West Houston Medical Center, Shell Technology Center – Houston, LBJ Hospital, Exxon Mobil Campus, Pearland Medical Center, FMC Technologies – Generation Park, among other minor construction projects in the Houston area. Outside of the office, Danis assists in coaching and developing young football athletes for the Northwest Tigers Youth football league in Acres Holmes as well as volunteering his time with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Nick has over 16 years of experience in commercial and residential electrical construction. While working in the field for LECS, he attended the Independent Electrical Contractors (I.E.C.) trade school to receive his Journeyman’s License. In 2001, Nick was brought in to the estimating department. After spending several years learning to estimate, Nick left LECS and spent 3 years working in the engineering sector. Upon his return to LECS, Nick began work in the CAD/BIM department creating field layout designs, as-builts, and coordination drawings. Nick’s expertise includes 3D Building Information Modeling (B.I.M.) used for coordination and conflict resolution processes. During his down time, he enjoys spending as much time with his wife and two kids.
After drafting in the fire sprinkler industry, Chris joined LECS and has assisted in the CAD department for the last 8 years. His experience includes projects such as: Lone Star College- Tomball Health Science Building, Science and Health Training Facility – San Jacinto College, and Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium among other electrical construction projects in the Houston area. Outside of the office, Chris spends his time performing for a rock band as a passionate and high-performance drummer.
Kerry has spent the last 37 years working as a purchasing agent for large companies. The last 18 years have been with LECS. Kerry oversees all daily material purchases, manages our warehouse and delivery teams, and oversees the pre-fab department at LECS. Kerry enjoys spending his time outdoors with his family and two grown sons.
Motivated, hard-working and always paying attention to the details, Accounting Manager Jennifer M. Wilkerson is an integral part of the team. A Houston native, Jennifer graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Business degree before joining LECS in 2013. Her responsibilities encompass many aspects of our business, including managing the day –to- day financial operations, including cash management, payroll, accounts payable and receivable. In her free time, Jennifer absolutely adores spending time with her husband, their son, and with extended family and friends. Jennifer also volunteers her time as a coach with The Woodlands Shooting Star Special Olympics team.
Bernadette joined LECS in 2013 as a receptionist. As a receptionist she is accountable for providing customer service, secretarial, clerical and administrative support with the purpose of ensuring that company’s front office is functioning in an effective and efficient manner.
